CLASS STRUCTURE
Introduction
(15 minutes)
Welcome the children and introduce yourself.
Briefly explain what they will be learning and cooking today.
Go over safety rules in the kitchen (e.g., handling knives, using the stove under supervision).
Recipe Demonstration
(20 minutes)
Choose simple recipes that are easy for children to understand and execute, such as fruit salad, sandwiches, no-bake cookies, or simple pasta dishes.
Demonstrate each step of the recipe, highlighting important techniques and safety tips.
Encourage interaction by asking questions and inviting children to help with simple tasks.
Hands-on Cooking
(40 minutes)
Divide the children into small groups, each supervised by an adult.
Provide each group with the necessary ingredients and equipment to prepare the recipe.
Offer assistance and guidance as needed, but encourage children to take the lead in cooking.
Tasting and Presentation
(15 minutes)
Once the dishes are ready, have each group present their creation to the class.
Allow everyone to sample the dishes and provide feedback.
Emphasize the importance of trying new foods and appreciating different flavors.
Wrap-up and Clean-up
(10 minutes)
Thank the children for participating and congratulate them on their cooking skills.
Discuss what they enjoyed most about the class and what they learned.
Assign simple tasks for cleaning up the kitchen area, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness in cooking.
